Job Description

Locum Anesthesiologist San Francisco, CaliforniaFloat Pool | High-Acuity Inpatient & Outpatient CoverageSchedule / Availability
  • Start Date: February 9, 2026
  • Contract Length: 26+ weeks
  • Coverage: Full-time preferred (2 weeks/month minimum, will consider 1 week/month)
  • Work Days: 45 days/week
  • Shift Length: 810 hours (minimum 40 hours/week guaranteed)
  • Number of Positions: 3
  • Setting: Hospital-based (with float to ambulatory surgery centers)
Licenses & Certifications
  • Board Certification: Required (will consider truly Board Eligible if fellowship-trained)
  • CA Medical License: Required
  • DEA (CA with Schedule II/II-N): Required
  • BLS & ACLS (AHA-certified): Required
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in anesthesiology
  • Tertiary Care Experience: Required
  • References: 2 professional references required prior to offer
Clinical Role / Work Details
  • Float Pool: Providers will rotate between high-acuity inpatient and outpatient settings
  • No option for outpatient-only work
  • Cases: General anesthesia; occasional regional (no cardiac, liver, or neuro)
  • Patient Population: Adults & adolescents (13+)
  • Support Staff: CRNAs
  • Solo OR coverage (occasional CRNA supervision)
  • EMR: EPIC
Skills & Preferences
  • Regional anesthesia skills: Preferred (not required)
  • Must be adaptable and comfortable working in varied surgical environments
