LOCATION:   Long Island (Nassau County), New York

PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY:

  • Located in Long Island (Nassau County), New York: Two fellowship-trained Trauma and Surgery Critical Care Surgeons are needed for a hospital based and employed positions.
  • The new Trauma Surgeons will be joining many other trauma surgeons as well as a support staff of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
  • These two excellent Trauma Surgery opportunities are due to increased growth and expansion.
  • Hospital Information: 

  • The hospital is ACS-COT Verified.

  • It is a New York State designated Level I Trauma Center.

  • It has state-of-the-art surgical equipment.

  • Qualifications of Desired Candidates:
  • BE/BC in General Surgery.
  • Fellowship trained BE/BC Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Surgeon
  • Candidates will have appropriate clinical skills and an interest in education/research.

  • Responsibilities Include the following:

 

  • Emergency General Surgery coverage
  • Performing surgical procedures such as amputation of limbs organs, reconstructive surgery, and tumor-removal procedures.
  • Performing surgery to repair internal injuries caused by physical trauma such as:  gun-shot wounds, stab wounds, broken bones, burns, and internal organ damage.
  • Conducting diagnostic tests to identify causes of pain or other symptoms.
  • Performing surgery on patients who have experienced traumatic injuries to internal organs such as the heart or liver.
  • Maintaining records of patients’ medical histories, treatment plans, and progress throughout treatment.
  • Prescribing medications to help patients who are recovering from surgery.
  • Hospital duties in Elective General Surgery exist.
  • Availability of Desired Candidates:  Trauma and Critical Care Surgeons who are still in fellowship training and will be available during the summer of 2023 and 2024 as well as trauma surgeons who already have work experience are all welcome to apply and will be considered.

 

FINANCIAL COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

  • All the physicians and support staff are all employed by this well-regarded hospital.

  • They are offering a very competitive base salary range of $350,000 to $450,000.  It will be commensurate with the Trauma and Critical Care surgeon’s experience, skills, etc.
