Internal Medicine Salary and Compensation Information

Hospitals and health systems generally pay internal medicine physicians a base salary based on their experience, education, and specialty. The exact compensation structure depends on a physician's employment arrangement and the organization they work for.

Depending on their patient volume and quality of care, they may also be eligible for productivity bonuses.

In addition to salary and benefits, physicians often receive additional benefits as part of their package. These may include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and continuing education opportunities.
