PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY:
- A Vitreoretinal fellowship-trained surgeon is needed to join a premier Eye Institute.
- This modern Eye Institute is comprised of 12 highly trained ophthalmologists.
- They currently have 50 staff members. They consist of a strong, supportive and well-trained office staff, along with technical support provided by certified ophthalmic technicians, and administrative support.
- This Eye Institute is part of a top-notch regional medical campus for a renowned University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
- The desired candidate is required to have completed a Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship.
- This is a full-time employed faculty position.
- Clinical work will be 90% of the time. 10% of the time will be devoted to teaching, creating lectures for residents, and administrative work.
- This is an outpatient position with outpatient surgery and surgical block time
- The new Vitreoretinal surgeon will have the opportunity and rewards of mentoring residents and working with them on research and other projects.
- They have a diverse patient population.
- They also have a very manageable patient load with a large degree of autonomy.
- They typically see 15 patients per session (30/day).
- Weekdays with regular business hours
- Call schedule: Infrequent nights and weekends (about six weeks per year).
- Junior and senior residents take primary call and contact a faculty member who is on call if necessary (generally for surgical procedures).
- State-of-the-art onsite testing devices: Optos, ophthalmic angiograms, visual field-testing, OCT testing, and many other ophthalmic tests.
- There is great growth opportunity with potential a leadership role!
- This is a patient-centric practice that works collaboratively in clinic and with sub-specialties to minimize multiple patient visits.
