POSITION DUTIES: - - Verify proper patient preparation for tests requested by the provider, e.g., fasting, special diet, medications, etc., as well as appropriate sample collection procedure and sample transport requirements. - Collect blood samples from inpatients, outpatients, and emergency room patients using aseptic techniques. - Collect body fluid and other samples for testing. - Receive and interpret laboratory request slips and reviews them for required information. - Utilize safety and infection control practices and procedures following established rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
