As a Social Worker (Substance Abuse), you will: - Performs ongoing behavioral health risk assessments of Soldiers, to include behavioral health disorders, terminal illness, chronic/debilitating illness, etc. - - Determines health intervention needs, resource needs, issues related to compliance with medical care plans, medical/physical evaluation board actions, and issues related to transitioning back to duty or into the civilian sector. - - Monitors behavioral health treatment of the Soldier to ensure Soldier receives required behavioral health care. - - Collaborates with the Soldier Recovery Unit, Soldier and Family Assistance Center (SFAC), and designated Veterans Benefits Administration staff to develop and facilitate an individual Comprehensive Recovery Plan for each Soldier. - - Serves as the interdisciplinary treatment team behavioral health consultant. - - Provides treatment in the context of supportive counseling, brief-solution focused interventions, and crisis counseling to Soldiers. - - Conduct ongoing assessments of the social work role and its effectiveness within the Soldier Recovery Unit and translate to program development and clinical services.
