Job Description

Providence St. Lukes Rehabilitation Medical Center invites a Physiatrist with strong interest in serving patients with Spinal Cord Injury and other neurorehabilitation diagnoses to join a well-established, CARF-accredited rehabilitation teaching hospital and physiatry clinic. This is a full-time position within a collegial group of 12 faculty physiatrists and 24 physiatry residents along with scores of other members of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. The physiatrist in this position will 1) support delivery of world class rehabilitation medical care in hospital and clinic settings, and 2) serve an essential role in physiatry resident and medical student education.

  • Mixed inpatient/outpatient clinical practice focused on serving patients with spinal cord injuries and other neurorehabilitation diagnoses.
  • Opportunities are available to develop clinical practice within the broader spectrum of PM&R scope of practice, in alignment with applicant interests and community needs.
  • Opportunities for broader roles in inpatient rehabilitation and inpatient consults are available.
  • Some inpatient call coverage necessary, currently about 6 to 8 times per year. Call is shared among attending physiatrists within the group with 24/7 resident involvement as points of contact for the clinic and hospital.
  • Teaching physiatry residents and medical students is required.
  • Board certification/board eligibility in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is required.
  • Subspecialty board certification in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, or recent satisfactory completion of an SCI fellowship with eligibility to take the SCI Medicine certification exam is preferred.
  • Experience in spasticity management and musculoskeletal/neuromuscular ultrasound is preferred.
  • Research opportunities with Washington State University (WSU), University of Washington, Eastern Washington University, University of Idaho, University of Montana, and Gonzaga University are available.
  • Eligibility for clinical faculty appointment at WSU Elson S Floyd College of Medicine and University of Washington Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.
  • Organization qualifies for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
  • Compensation is between $263,660 to $358,675 per year.
  • The compensation amounts listed may include productivity or quality/service incentives, call pay, extra shift incentives, as applicable to the position. In addition, providers have CME benefits available to them
